This week, ConvergeOne acquired Spanlink and changed the name to ConvergeOne Collaboration.

It is also a company that was acquired by Qumu, which believes that enterprise communications can be revolutionized through video.

I have been seeing a lot of commercials on TV lately for Square, the company that makes that little square adaptor for your smartphone to process credit card payments. It is quite possible that this is happening at this time because the company recently concluded a venture funding round in which it raised $150 million.

Another company that was successful in a Series B funding round was Zoomdata. Although they didn’t do quite as well as Square, $17 million will go a long way toward its visualization technology that was built with stream processing and iPads in mind. It will also be used to offer faster queries to deliver results in a nicer visual style.
