iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus Break Four Million Pre-Orders on Day One

September 9th's presentation of the iPhone (News - Alert) 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus variant can be directly measured to be a success, given how quickly the devices were pre-ordered before the September 19th release. In fact, Apple (News - Alert) announced that within 24 hours of the availability for pre-sale more than 4 million of the devices were ordered by eager customers. Not only did this exceed the initial pre-order supply and create major profits for the company from a device that hasn't even been released yet, but it also broke a company record for first day pre-orders.


“iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do,' said Apple CEO Tim Cook. “Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can't wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”

On Friday, the new iPhone products, which sport larger and more vivid displays, will be available in more than 30 countries including the U.S. and the U.K. In addition to the larger screen real estate, the ergonomic devices feature much more powerful processing power that also runs more efficiently than previous models, resulting in an increased battery life. An included health app that keeps track of the user's exercise rates and the ability to make phone calls over Wi-Fi are also exciting features that consumers have been excited to get in their hands.

Now that all of these features are available on the iPhone 6 and its larger and faster big brother, the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple customers are preparing to claim their new devices as soon as possible. The success of the pre-sale suggests that Apple customer loyalty is higher than ever, since even without consumer reviews this many customers are willing to spend their hard-earned cash on the new devices.
