There are times in life when an email just doesn’t accurately convey your message. Face-to-face meetings are best in these scenarios, but not always possible due to logistics. The next best thing could be a video messaging tool that lets users send targeted, personalized messages quickly and efficiently.

Vsnap offers B2B and B2C video messaging products that enable that personalization, without the high price point and management and administration hassle of many traditional video conferencing and messaging solutions. Paula Bernier, TMC (News - Alert) executive editor, got to speak with Vsnap CEO Dave McLaughlin at the recent ITEXPO 2014 in Las Vegas about the company’s offerings.

“It’s all about just giving people an easy way to bring the human layer back into business interaction and put a different context around the sales conversation that drives business in a measurable way,” said McLaughlin. He added that the benefits are pretty clear, with Vsnap clients increasing their conversion rates and renewals by up to 34 percent.

The company offers a variety of pricing plans, features and even a free demo for those who want to try out its solutions. It also targets a number of markets, including sales and account managers who aren’t able to have face-to-face interactions with their buyers. But Vsnap has other applications, and McLaughlin described how client Penn Foster, a provider of online and hybrid education solutions, is using Vsnap to reach out to students and prospective students.

“Online education is one of those industries where there’s a big range in the quality of providers and so there’s a little bit of a trust factor for students who are considering enrolling in online courses,” said McLaughlin. By sending personalized video messages to prospective students, the company has been able to increase their enrollment rates while helping students feel at ease with their education choices.

McLaughlin is no stranger to ITEXPO (News - Alert) and Vsnap participated in StartupCamp 6 at ITEXPO West in Austin two years ago. The camp brings together small, innovative and disruptive technology companies and gives them a chance to share their vision and collaborate. McLaughlin was happy to participate in StartupCamp 9 in Las Vegas, this time returning as a judge for startups helloMD, nextcaller and Onkol.
