In just two short weeks, SmartVoice Conference, collocated with ITEXPO, will be upon us, touching down at The Rio in Las Vegas, Nev., on August 11, 2014. Here, for one brief yet illustrious day, vendors, service providers, call center operators, resellers, and end-users alike are given an arena with which to both discuss new technology in the field, and incite innovation.
One such innovator in the field of smart and hyper voice technology is ColdSmoke from Natural Language Processing Technologies, LLC, a tech startup and provider of Software as a Service. ColdSmoke offers a patent pending platform that will eventually provide a voice user interface to companies using web technology, according to Yada Schneider, president and chief technology officer at ColdSmoke.
Recently, TMC had the opportunity to talk with Yada about his upcoming expectations for both the impending SmartVoice Conference, and the market vertical in general.
When asked what he thought was going to be the biggest trend or innovation in business technology in the next year, Yada responded, “Voice or natural language on wearable devices, smartphones and tablets.” Natural language processing (NLP) is just one constituent of the smart voice gamut, which encompasses call recording/archiving, hypervoice text-to-speech indexing, voice biometrics, and voice analytics.
Able to seamlessly interconnect raw, live voice through to a computing device, the perfection of NLP will change the way humans search, query, and generally interact with their Internet technology.
For Yada, this perfection is soon to come, in the form of “Her.”
Being showcased at the ColdSmoke booth, Her is the first step toward the realization of smart voice into the realm of everyday mobile convenience.
This avant-garde mobile application allows users to shop online, purchase travel documents, book reservations (at a restaurant, hotel etc.), translate English from a wide array of languages, find a location, and search the Web, all through ColdSmoke natural language mapping technology.
“Her is your personal online shopping and reservation assistant. Her harnesses the power of natural speech to make searching and finding [anything] you can buy, book or reserve online a breeze.
Just talk to Her,” Yada said.
Being offered as a free smartphone application for the Android and iPhone platforms, Her will facilitate Yada’s ambitious list of functions through NLP. As the company’s catchy saying goes, “Just talk to Her, and she’ll find the best of the Web and bring it to you.”
Along with a Her app, ColdSmoke has the Software Developer Kit (SDK) in development which is able to map natural language to Web services APIs, and VoiceForce, an interface intended to work seamlessly with SalesForce.com.
Don’t miss Yada Schneider along with Jay Blazensky, co-founder and vice president of Business Development at VoiceBase during a panel discussion at the event titled, “Searchable Voice is Access: Natural Language Processing and HyperVoice,” taking place at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11 at what promises to be the most exciting SmartVoice Conference yet.
