In a world where data and speed are king, it makes sense that a company that deals in the colocation center field would want to have the very best people it could. With that in mind, New Jersey based colocation provider Net Access recently announced that Raul Martynek is the company’s new CEO. Martynek is an industry veteran who replaces Blake Ellman. Ellman had been the firm’s Chief Executive Officer since 1995 and is also a co-founder of Net Access. Ellman will stay with the company, simply transitioning into another position as the CTO and will be leading the way when it comes to product development.
Fully behind the move, Ellman put out a statement announcing the changes and spoke glowing about the new CEO. “The time was right to bring on someone from the outside and make the transition from a founder run company to an executive with a diverse background in growing technology businesses,” he said.
The move comes when more companies than ever before are starting to get into the colocation business. Firms all over the world are finding that space comes at a premium, not to mention power, and bandwidth. Companies like DataLink are excellent examples as to why Net Access wants to make sure it is operating as efficiently and cleverly as possible. DataLink recently moved a major data center from a building in Seattle to a colocation center in the area.
Before coming over to Net Access, Martynek was the CEO for Voxel a company that focuses on managed hosting and is based in New York City. Martynek takes over a company that has three data centers located in New Jersey and is in the middle of an expansion project for one of those three centers. That project will allow the center to basically double in size. That expansion will allow the company to hold as many as 1,500 cabinets of gear at the location.
