October 29 was National Cat Day. Ever-bursting with fondness for felines, the Internet was extra packed with meowing memes and gifs of kittens being adorable. In recent times, the cat has come to hold a mysterious power over people. Many will proudly attest to the fact that a cute cat video can actually improve one's day. We have celebrity cats. There's Grumpy Cat, Lil Bub, a jivin' tabby known solely as "Keyboard Cat." The list goes on. We really love cats!

But there's one thing we don't particularly relish about them, and no, it's not just the shedding or the notion that they can gouge our eyes while we're sleeping. It's the unbelievably rank odor found in their urine. If you own a Latitude 6430u Ultrabook by Dell (News - Alert), you may know all too well of which we speak, cat owner or not.

BBC reports that some consumers who have recently purchased the model have noted that it absolutely reeks. The smell it emits has been compared to that of cat urine. In fact, the stink is so like that of a kitty pee, that those with cats in the home blamed their feline friends for the putrid stench.

"I thought for sure one of my cats sprayed it," said one customer of the malodorous machine. Due to another malfunction, this particular customer returned that Dell and swapped it for another. That one, too, reeked to high heaven.

After receiving numerous complaints, Dell investigated the matter, and concluded that, yup, some Latitude 6430u Ultrabooks smell all kinds of nasty.

"The smell is not related to cat urine or any other type of biological contaminant, nor is it a health hazard," Dell support technician SteveB says.

Dell is now offering a replacement plan. If you have an afflicted Latitude 6430u Ultrabook you can send it in and receive another that the company assures will not smell bad.
