KANA Upgrades LAGAN Enterprise Customer Service Suite for the Public Sector

KANA Software is bringing better customer service to public sector organizations. With the new version of its LAGAN Enterprise customer service suite, it now provides greater functionality to make the best use of growing workloads and expectations.


The latest version of LAGAN Enterprise helps public sector entities manage the government and citizen interactions, while speeding up and improving responses at less of a cost, as well as remove the need for information silos. This also helps them meet the new “Digital First” mandates, which are making online functionalities far more important.

There are several new solutions as part of the suite, each with specific purposes. The LAGAN Knowledge Management, for instance, provides a new knowledge platform and user interface for better speed, flexibility, and knowledge-authoring. Meanwhile, the LAGAN Employee Mobile lets public sector workers view, accept, update, and close cases no matter where they are, providing improved speed and productivity. There’s also the LAGAN Web Self-Service, which provides online self-service at any time a day, at any day a year.

At the same time, these provide improved case management and a lower cost of service. The new capabilities take care of major waste sources, and help re-classify cases to keep things timely and cost-effective. It also features an updated “event publisher” mechanism, and many more features that make it a step up from previous versions.

“The operating mantras across governments have been shaped into a well-worn truism: do more for less,” says Nishant Shah, an analyst for Ovum (News - Alert), in a statement. “It is the driving characteristic for the public sector’s operating context, whether in hard-hit agencies struggling with fiscal austerity or those that emerged from the downturn unscathed. However, long-term shifts in technology, economics, climate and geopolitics are forcing leaders to make a choice: begin preparing for the future or risk security lapses, an inability to compete for investment, and a generally decreased capability to support citizens.”

For public sectors, having efficient, convenient, and cost-effective solutions is important not only for the business, but for everyone who gains from their services. As such, the new LAGAN Enterprise suite from KANA is a boon to organizations suffering from lack of efficiency, too much confusion, and wasted money. It can manage multiple channels, allowing it to meet the needs of pretty much anyone.
